Okay, World, here I am!
Here’s the short story:
I’m chasidish, married, have kids and am a lesbian.
The long story? Stick around and you’ll get more than you bargained for. 😀 I sure know how to make a short story long. Mm-hm.
This isn’t a new revelation. I had always known this about myself, but didn’t allow myself to admit it until a few months ago. There has been a lot of thinking and pondering, self re-evaluation. Scary moments and happy moments. I’ve met many wonderful people on my journey so far, and I’m feeling better than I have in years!
The name of the blog, “Gay mit Glik,” is Yiddish for “Go with luck.” It’s not just luck. “Glik” is a successful and happy kind of luck. Fortunate. Not a “take a chance” type of luck. And I do feel very lucky to be a part of the LGBT community, especially the frum LGBT community.
I have a family blog that I post to on a regular basis, and obviously, I can’t write about this over there. But I need to! I need to write and get it all out and organize my thoughts, and hear from others, and…
I took measures to make sure there is no connection between my two blogs, but I may have missed some things. If anyone notices a breach in “security,” please let me know. (If my username or profile pop up anywhere… things like that.) I will eventually come out (partially) but until things are decided about my divorce and kids, I can’t have the whole world knowing.
(Edit… erm. I found a breach of security. Apparently if you follow my blog, you can see my username in Google reader. I gotta change my lovely, original, one-of-a-kind username to something generic. Sigh.)
Lots of cool stuff to come. You won’t be disappointed. 😀
How should I sign off? I may think of a better name later, but for now,
Oh, and please leave a comment. Don’t make me beg.
